The Rout of the Lowland Captain may refer to a skirmish in 1745 where two companies of  the Royal Scots commanded by Captain Scott, were waylaid at Highbridge near Fort William by the MacDonalds. The inexperienced Lowlanders were chased back along Loch Lochy, many being wounded or killed, and eventually were persuaded to surrender by Keppoch to prevent a bloodbath....
